Biblical Discovery Tour 2025 - Israel & Petra Hosted by Pastor Dale Dueck and Pastor Vic Engbrecht February 21 to March 6, 2025
Day 1, Fri. Feb. 21 – Depart Canada Depart Winnipeg. Meals will be served on board. Overnight enroute.
Day 2, Sat. Feb. 22 – Arrive Israel – Elah Valley / Jaffa – Tel Aviv / Caesarea Arrive Tel Aviv Upon arrival at Ben Gurion airport, you will be met by Smile and a Sunworld Tours representative Travel to the Elah Valley and then drive through Tel Aviv for a short view from Jaffa before traveling. Drive along the ancient "Way of the Sea" to Caesarea to explore the ancient Roman ruins. Then we will check in to our hotel on the Mediterranean Coast. Dinner and overnight in Netanya.
Day 3, Sun. Feb. 23 – Tel Aviv – Coastal Plain – Galilee After breakfast travel to the Muhraqa on Mount Carmel, overlooking the Jezreel Valley and where we commemorate the battle of Elijah with the prophets of Baal. On to visit Megiddo, Armageddon, the Fortress City of King Solomon later built upon by King Herod. Visit Gideon’s spring by the Gilboa Mountains. Travel through the Jezreel Valley for a view of Mount Tabor also known as the Mount of Transfiguration. Continue to Mount Precipice for a view of Nazareth and via Cana to Mount Arbel for a view of the Sea of Galilee. Dinner and Overnight in Tiberias by the Sea of Galilee.
Day 4, Mon. Feb. 24 – Sea of Galilee – The Ministry of Jesus Today we will visit the sites associated with the ministry of Jesus around the Sea of Galilee. Visit Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. Continue to the Eastern shores of the Sea of Galilee to visit Kursi and the newly excavated site of Hippos (Sussita). Visit Capernaum, and Magdala, and then enjoy a Boat Ride on the Sea of Galilee with music and worship and end the day with a visit to the Ginosar Jesus Boat Museum. Dinner and Overnight in Tiberias.
Day 5, Tue. Feb. 25 – Upper Galilee – Golan Heights Today we travel North to Upper Galilee to visit Tel Hazor and Tel Dan. Continue to the Banias Nature Reserve, site of the ancient Caesarea Philippi. Drive through the Golan Heights and end the day with a biblical hands on experience at Katzrin Talmudic Park. Dinner and Overnight in Tiberias.
Day 6, Wed. Feb. 26 – Jordan Valley – Jericho -Bethlehem We depart Galilee and travel south along the Jordan River and Valley to visit Beit Shean, a magnificent ancient city of historical ruins from the Roman and Byzantine periods. Continue to view Jericho and Mt. Temptation and visit the Kaser El Yehud Baptism site on the southern tip of the Jordan River. Travel up to Jerusalem on the route pilgrims traveled throughout the centuries for a view of the Holy City of Jerusalem Dinner and Overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 7, Thu. Feb. 27 - Jerusalem Start the day at the City of David, the oldest inhabited part of Jerusalem (the Canaanite Tunnels) and see the extensive excavations including the Pool of Siloam and Hezekiah’s Tunnel. Ascend the pilgrim road up to the walled Old City of Jerusalem to Visit Davidson Centre and see the Southern Wall Steps. View the Temple Mount and visit the Western Wall and West Wall Tunnels. Explore the Jewish Quarter and the colorful alleys and markets. For those interested enjoy Machane Yehuda Market and Ben Yehuda promenade along Jaffa street bustling with shops, restaurants and cafes. Dinner and Overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 8, Fri. Feb. 28 – Bethlehem / Herodion Start the day with a visit to the fortress of Herodion in the Judean Wilderness and the Inn of the Good Samaritan. Continue to Bethlehem to see the Shepherds Fields and the Church of Nativity. Return to Jerusalem as it prepares for the Shabbat. Those interested can walk to the Western Wall in the old city to experience the Jewish prayers. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 9, Sat. Mar. 1 – Jerusalem Start the day at the Mount of Olives to enjoy a view of the City of Jerusalem. Walk down the Palm Sunday path to the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations. Continue to the Christian quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem to walk along the Way of the Cross and visit the Pools of Bethesda and Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Time for shopping in the old city markets. End the day with a Tour and communion at the Garden Tomb. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 10, Sun. Mar. 2 – Dead Sea – Eilat This morning travel down to the Dead Sea Area via the Judean Wilderness. Visit Qumran, the center of the Essenes who wrote the Dead Sea Scrolls. Float in the therapeutic, salt mineral water of the Dead Sea, the lowest area on earth. Visit Masada, the fortress built by King Herod. Ascend by cable car to explore the excavations of the last stronghold of the Jewish Revolt against the Romans. Continue south to the Red Sea Resort town of Eilat. Dinner and Overnight in Eilat.
Day 11, Mon. Mar. 3 – Eilat – Optional Tour of Petra Free day to enjoy the resort of Eilat or enjoy a full day optional tour to the fantastic World Heritage site of Petra in Jordan with lunch. Dinner and Overnight in Eilat.
Day 12, Tue. Mar. 4 – Timan Tabernacle – Beer Sheva Depart Eilat to visit the Tabernacle in the Desert at Timna Nature Reserve, site of King Solomon’s Mines. Travel through the Negev Desert and the city of Beer-Sheva to visit the new Abraham’s Well center and ancient Tel Beer Sheva. Dinner and overnight in Lachish or Samaria area.
Day 13, Wed. Mar. 5 – Judea and Samaria / Tel Aviv Tour of Judea and Samaria area including Tel Shilo, Beit El and outlook to ancient Shechem (Nablus) and Mt. Gerizim area. (subject to security permission) Rest of the day to rest and enjoy Tel Aviv. Farewell dinner and overnight in Tel Aviv.
Day 14, Thu Mar 6 – Departure Transfer to the airport to fly home.
