SHALOM ISRAEL 2024 TOUR ITINERARY
Monday/Tuesday, January 15, 16: We meet at Edmonton International Airport to begin our 2024 Shalom Israel tour. We depart at 8 AM Air Canada flight AC 162 and arrive in Tel Aviv on January 16 at 4:50 PM (Tel Aviv time) with a stop over in Toronto. Upon arrival in Tel Aviv, we will be welcomed by our Israeli tour guide Steven Berel and get acquainted with Tel Aviv.
Wednesday, January 17: Tel Aviv tells the story of the miracle of Israel like no other city in Israel. Our tour begins with a visit to a Messianic Ministry in Tel Aviv called Dugit Ministries a ministry that passionately shares the Good News with Israelis. Then we will visit the ancient port of Joffa, have lunch and hop on the tour bus and make our way to the Mediterranean Sea Port, Caesarea, where the Apostle Peter baptised Cornelius. We will travel to Tiberias and stay at the Smart Hotel Lagos until January 21st.
Thursday, January 18: After breakfast we begin the day by visiting Capernahum. No other city in Galilee has more importance and connection to Jesus’ ministry than Capernahum. He performed more miracles and preached more sermons in Capernahum than any other place. After Capernahum we will visit Tel Dan, an important site in biblical archaeology. After lunch we will head over to Caesarea Philippi where Jesus took his disciples to reveal His identity as Messiah. We will return to Tiberias and enjoy a delicious buffet at the hotel.
Friday, January 19: We begin the day visiting the Jezreel Valley and Meggido often referred to as the place of battles. In this location, “the kings of the whole world” will be gathered “for the battle on the great day of God Almighty” (Rev 16:14). We then journey to Nazareth to experience a re-enactment of a village at the time of Jesus and enjoy a biblical meal for lunch. We will then visit Mount Precipice the site where Jesus was rejected by the people of Nazareth.
Saturday, January 20: After breakfast we will sail inthe Sea of Galilee, where Jesus performed His dramatic miracle of walking on water. Then we visit the Tent of Mercy Messianic Congregation for a Shabbat worship service. We will have lunch and head over to Magdala the small fishing village where Mary Magdalene was delivered from seven demons.
Sunday, January 21: We leave the Galilee region and head down to the Dead Sea. On the way we will visit Qasr El Yehud, the place where John baptised Jesus in the Jordan River. We will also perform baptisms for any participant wishing to be baptised in the Jordan River. We will then visit Jericho and have lunch. We finish the day at the Dead Sea and stay at the David Resort Hotel.
Monday, January 22: After spending free time floating in the Dead Sea, we will visit Masada, the ancient fortress and site of the Jews’ last stand against the Romans after the fall of Jerusalem in 70 CE. After lunch at Masada, we will visit Ein Gedi. The craggy rocks and mountainous surroundings served as an ideal hiding place for King David as he fled King Saul. King David wrote several of his Psalms in Ein Gedi. We end the day, by heading out to the Judean Hills where we will we stay for two nights at the Messianic Kibbutz, Yad Hashmona.
Tuesday, January 23: After Breakfast we will headup to Jerusalem and spend the remaining days of the tour in this ancient city. No city has more biblical history or Bible prophecy associated with it than Jerusalem. We begin by visiting the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum, so that we might learn from the memory and meanings of the Holocaust. The Lord said in the prophets that ″ to them will I give in my house and within my walls a memorial and a name (a ΄yad vashem΄)... that shall not be cut off.″ We will then have lunch in the Tent Restaurant and visit the Israel Museum.
Wednesday, January 24: After breakfast we start the day praying at the Western Wall, considered the holiest site in the world. Then we visit the most disputed piece of real estate in the world, the Temple Mount (Mt. Moriah). Ezekiel foretells that on this site a future millennial temple will be rebuilt. Following the Temple Mount we will visit the Davidson Center, home to some of the most important archaeological finds from the Second Temple period. After lunch we will head over to the City of David where many of the stories in biblical Jerusalem took place. We will end the day in the Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem and visit the Temple Institute where we will learn about the Institute’s goal to see Israel rebuild the Temple on Mt. Moriah in Jerusalem. For the remining of the tour we will stay at Smart Hotels Montifiore in Jerusalem.
Thursday, January 25: We begin our day by going to the Mt. of Olives the place where Jesus would often teach His disciples and where He will return in the last days as King of Glory. From there we will walk down to the Garden of Gethsemane. We will then visit the Pool of Bethesda where Jesus healed a man. After lunch we will visit the Garden Tomb the possible location for the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus. The rest of the day is free. After supper we will be entertained by an impressive light show at the Tower of David.
Friday, January 26: Free day in Jerusalem!
Saturday, January 27: Depart from Tel Aviv at 11:55 AM for Edmonton. Arrive in Edmonton at 21:10 PM (MST).
