Day 2 Wed Mar 13 Arrive Israel
Upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport you will be met by a Sunworld representative and our local tour guide. Drive through Tel Aviv, Israel’s largest metropolitan area. Visit the ancient seaport of Jaffa – Joppa (Acts 10) the port from which Jonah set sail and Peter raised Tabitha). In the evening we will meet for orientation and dinner.

Day 3 Thu Mar 14 Coastal Plain – Galilee
Drive through the Sharon Plain “Way of the Sea” to Caesarea Maritima (Acts 10, 24, 26). Tour Herod’s impressive port city. Here Roman governors such as Pontius Pilate, Felix (Acts 24) and Festus (Acts 26) ruled, the Roman Centurion Cornelius received the gospel, and Paul made his famous defence before King Agrippa. Visit Muhraqa - is famous as the site of the Sacrifice of Elijah the Prophet.. Travel through Mt. Carmel for a view of the Jezreel Valley to Meggido (Revelations 16:16) – which gives its name to “Armageddon”. Continue to Nazareth – boyhood home of Jesus to visit Nazareth Village to learn about life in a Jewish Agricultural village 2000 years ago. Also, if possible, to visit the Synagogue Church in Nazareth for time of prayer. Continue to Mount Precipice (Luke 4).

Day 4 Fri Mar 15 Sea of Galilee
Worship on the Sea of Galilee sailing on wooden boat with singing and dancing. Visit the Ginosar Boat Museum to see the ancient fishing boat from the time of Yeshua found by the shore of the Plain of Genesaret. In the afternoon visit the newly excavated site of Magdala and the Jordan River.

Day 5 Sat Mar 16 Sea of Galilee - Golan
Start the day on the hillside of the traditional site of the Sermon on the Mount Beatitudes (Matt 5-7) overlooking the Sea of Galilee. Visit Capernaum (Matt 8) – Jesus’ ministry base. Travel north to visit Banias/Caesarea Phillipi and Mount Bental (Matt 16) - site of Jesus’ question to his disciples: “Who do men say that I am”?

Day 6 Sun Mar 17 Jordan Valley – Jerusalem
Travel south along the Jordan Valley to visit Beit Shean, a reconstructed Roman City. Visit Qumran the site of the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls. It is best known as the settlement nearest to the hiding place of the Dead Sea Scrolls in the caves of the sheer desert cliffs. Continue via Kaser El Yehud and the Judean Wilderness to enter the city of the Great King - Jerusalem for a first view of the Holy City - “Our feet are standing in your gates, O Jerusalem” (Psalm 122:2). Then to the Israel Museum – amazing 50:1 Model of Jerusalem at the time of Jesus and the Shrine of the Book which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit.

Day 7 Mon Mar 18 Jerusalem
In the morning visit the City of David the earliest part of Jerusalem, which David conquered from the Jebusites. Explore the Canaanite water system and the water tunnel King Hezekiah dug at the time of the Assyrian siege and see the Pool of Siloam, view the audio visual that will help us visualize the stone ruins as they were 3000 years ago. View Temple Mount where Jesus taught daily whenever he was in Jerusalem. Now the Moslem Shrines of the Dome of the Rock and the Al-Aqsa Mosque stand there. Take time to pray at the Western Wall and visit the Jewish Quarter and Davidson Centre viewing the extensive archaeological excavations that have unearthed a wall built by King Hezekiah and Herod’s monumental entranceway to the Temple.

Day 8 Tue Mar 19 Jerusalem
Today experience the Way of the Cross. Start with Mt. Of Olives (Matt 24, 25) for a breath-taking panorama over the Old City of Jerusalem. As you descend/walk the hill, remember that Jesus often travelled this descent and taught his disciples along the way and remember his weeping over the city in the midst of his triumphal entry. Continue to Garden of Gethsemane area. View the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and end the day at the Garden Tomb a peaceful place for our group to reflect on the Lord’s death and resurrection. Day 9 Wed Mar 20 Bethlehem – Dead Sea
This morning travel to Bethlehem (Luke 2 – the traditional birthplace of Jesus and nearby Shepherds’ Fields). Descend down to the Dead Sea to visit the Oasis of Ein Gedi and the Fortress of Massada which we will ascend by cable car. Dinner and Overnight by the Dead Sea / David Hotel or similar
Day 10 Thu Mar 21 Dead Sea
Free day at the Dead Sea to relax at the Beach of spa and reflect on the tour.
